Central Park Zoo

 We saw the Sea Lions and the Rain Forest

 Then Charlie found a stage where he performed a story for us. It involved a giant squirrel, eyeballs, and running away.  We need to work on our character development and plot sequence a little bit.  

 Then we played in some turtle shells and went home.

Central Park Merry-Go-Round

NYC

At the beginning of April vacation Charlie and I went to NJ to visit Auntie Gretchen.  

There certainly was a lot to see.  

 This boy was ready to play.

 Thanks for inviting us Auntie Gretchen and Thanks mom for braving the drive down with me.  

Thomas… I hear him!

After some lunch we walked over to see the Thomas show.  Charlie could hear the subway trains near by and the whole walk was saying " Thomas…I hear him!"  He got pretty into the show after about 10 minutes.  Then he and Gretchen waited in line to see Thomas but as soon as they got to the stage it was a no go.  I said " you waited 30 min for your picture with Thomas and you are getting your picture with Thomas" so that was that.  He is as far away from it as he could get . I guess we won't be in any rush to go to Disney to see the characters.  

Ice, Trains, and Driving Rain

 We had plans to meet Auntie Gretchen in the Bronx to see the train exhibit at the botanical gardens.  It was quite the day.  

 The display was pretty impressive and not that crowded so that was nice.  

Taking a Break

 Auntie Gretchen was able to take a break from her duties at the event to hang with us and show Charlie around.  

Which one?

 We went down to New Jersey to go to Gretchen's touch a truck event.  

The big question was who was having more fun exploring the trucks, Baer or Charlie?

 My favorite was the SWAT vehicle. 

Car Crashes

       Baer caught a good car crash, I guess that yellow car above dropped some oil and then these cars below slipped on it. Whoops.

Doing some Business

          We had to load some car parts onto our golf cart.....also a good place to read a book.

Back Stage at the Race

          Dan rented a golf cart so we got to drive around the back of the track for some close up views. Kali and I got some more book reading in.

New Jersey and Race Cars

             We went down to New Jersey to see some race cars and other sights (below).  Baer got to see cars and visit with race car people and I got to enjoy some nice weather and my book.

Bears

 Wyatt and Baer both found Bears to befriend downtown. 

Growing Group

              Our group has grown considerably since the last time we all rented a house together. Addie was checking out some of the ice sculptures.

Hunter Mountain

 We all decided at the last wedding we were at that we would have to do some serious planning in order to get together again anytime soon.  It all came together in Tannersville NY at a creepy house that we rented for the weekend.  Sunday morning involved a walk into town for some shopping and lunch.

Finding 80 Degrees

As soon as we got to the museum we knew the exhibit we had to visit.  It was the only one that would be 80 degrees on a 20 degree day.  The butterfly conservatory was just the place. We even got to see one emerging from its cocoon.
