Projects

 Project number 1 was a sandbox.  There was a plan and then Justin came and also decided we need to redo the patio where the sandbox was going.  Despite the looks of the picture above he worked really hard to make the patio you see below.  

 Baer built the sandbox that is going to go in the middle of the patio.  Charlie love it, even without the sand. 

 Project 2 involved a tractor. Dan, Kali and Molly came to help.  

The finished product. In about 5 years we will have lots of privacy.  Ps this blog post does not at all show the amount of work this project actually took.  

Summer Outings

 We've been doing a lot of different things this summer, but I don't always have the energy to take my camera along. I did bring it to Drumlin farms one afternoon. The animals were cool until Charlie saw the tractor.  

We took a hay ride. When Charlie learned he wasn't going to sit on the tractor he was a little upset, but got over it.  

Grasshopper on the Greenway

 We saw the new Greenway carousal . They had some great animals to choose from.  

Seeing the Seals

 The aquarium was a little too packed for a visit. The Seals are always a hit though. 

Grammy and Papa

 Grammy and Papa came down from Maine to do some quality book reading and playing.

Bon Voyage Dan and Allyson

 We went to the Marina for Dan and Allyson's going away party. We are going to miss them very much.  If you want to follow them on their adventures you can check out  their blog Sea Changes

Red White and Preppy

I'm a little behind, but this was from the 4th of July on our way to Boston. Charlie had no shortage of red white and blue outfits for the weekend. 

Seeing the Train

 We got to the train just in time to see it pull out of the station.  

Sprinkler Time!

 Grandpa showed Charlie how to play in the sprinkler.

 He quickly jumped in after learning how to "whack" it

 Getting his car washed was also a hit. 

 I suspect there will be more hours of sprinkler playing at this house.  

$5 = hours of enjoyment

 Grandma found a Cozy Coupe for $5.  Charlie loves it and it bring him hours of entertainment.

Still not done

 Charlie's day was still not over, we had to do some tractor climbing with his "shobel" and help Dad wash the car. 

Project

 All cleaned up after the painting activity. Time to clean the garage. 

This is why I hate painting.

 I feel like it's my job to show Charlie new things. But I knew this activity was going to be quick and it was going to be a mess.  We started on the deck and it was going okay. Then he started moving around and I thought "oh no, I bought this paint at the dollar store, what if it doesn't come off"  

 So we moved down to the grass in the shade and things went okay for a bit.  

 Charlie had a large sense of freedom. Outside…no clothes….a brush in his hand. 

 Still going okay and I'm over the dollar store nervousness.

 Yes, I think this grass does need a little red.  

 Mixing colors…I hate mixing colors. We only own one color playdoh for this reason. Green.  

 Dollar store fears return. What if it is toxic? What if it doesn't come off?

Also now the shade is gone and Charlie is outside in the bright sun, painting himself without sunscreen on.  

This activity ended 7 minutes after it started in the bathtub with a screaming kid and me saying "Oh God don't touch me!"
