Babysitter Recruitment

Kevin's friend Steph works at the cemetery as an event planner (it's not just funerals, there are weddings there too, its a very pretty place)  at Mt. Auburn so we surprised her and Charlie gained a free babysitter for life.  Thanks for visiting with us Steph!  You and Scott can babysit any time!

School Vacation

It's school vacation and Charlie and I had lots of activities planned, some boring like Drs appointments and others exciting (ok boring) like a Rock and Mineral Tour of Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.  It is part of the Cambridge Science Festival and I told my students about it so I figured I better show up.  Well it was really crowded (none of my students though) and Charlie and I ditched the tour and just walked around.   Charlie wore his Red Sox gear.

6 month Check up

Charlie is still long and lean!  28 1/2 inches long and only 16 lbs! Baer and I guessed 18 lbs.  That's 94% for height, 16% for weight.

Evolution of Play

The playmat is not for laying on anymore.
 It's for making forts.

He's really good at the plank.

Charlie gets to have his dinner with a view now that the weather is nice out.

Opening Day

Charlie's RockCat lunch box is the toy he is most intrigued by, as soon as I take it out he wants at it.
I keep his blocks in it and I think ups the excitement level.  He loves to open it and play with the handle and bang blocks on it to make some nice loud noises.
Sometimes the lunch box is so exhausting he can't even sit up anymore.

First Easter

Charlie loved the ribbons and wrapping on his Easter basket!
He decided to wait until next year to try Peeps.
Best Family Shot we could get.

Rocketeer in Training

Charlie said he'd watch the rocket engines for us.

First Rocket

It's not Charlie's first rocket (although he does have one now) it's Allyson's first rocket!
I hope she doesn't beat Baer by building her rocket before he makes his. Although she could easily kick our butt in rocket building since she has a level 3, ours is only a level 2.

6 Months Old!

Charlie Baer!  We have had you around for 6 months now and although that means I haven't slept through the night in the same amount of time we are thrilled you picked us to be your parents. You are so sweet and so silly all at the same time.  You love to kick and punch ( your theme song according the Grandpa is "Punch and Kick" by Reel Big Fish, but some words aren't appropriate for young children so I did not link it here.  You can grab lots of thing and you love eating. You had avocados today. Yum!! You make everyday such a happy day for me and Dad.  We love you!

When Left Alone.....

Charlie was in his room playing and I peeked down the hall to see these 2 little legs sticking out....he's been working really hard at rolling over multiple times...add that to scooting backwards and he's on the move!

Happy yet Drooly Boy in Maine!

Baer and I went to a Ring Exchange party and Charlie got to spend some time with Grammy, Papa and Holly.  He certainly had a good time watching Holly and swinging in his swing.

2 Baers 1 Thyroid

I'm sure most of you know by now that Baer had his thyroid removed a few weeks ago. Well he recovered very well from the surgery and is back to work and all his other activities (except for waking up at night with Charlie...we're working on that). Thanks to everyone for their help and good thoughts during everything!
