Way Down Yonder in the Pumpkin Patch

Charlie pondered long and hard about which pumpkin to get.
Baer had the final say and picked a very nice punk. We will have to carve it pretty soon!

Grammy and Papa Baer

We all had a really nice afternoon with a Charlie's first trip to a restaurant ( he slept) and to a Pumpkin Farm Stand.

Before Charlie was born I had every intention of putting him in a pumpkin and taking his picture....now that he's here, it seems like it might be a little cold and slimy...

Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa came up to visit while Baer had a car thing in New Hampshire.

This is what we call "floppy baby" Charlie gets so floppy after he eats. It's very funny.

Fitting..........

It's pretty funny that the only time Charlie has done this is when Dan was holding him.

Dan and Baer switched babies for a little bit. Molly was checking out her little buddy.

Gas Light

I am pretty sure most of my immediate family and Baer know how much having the gas light on bothers me......so we get into the car to go home from the hospital and what's on.....the gas light.
We made it home......

Going Home!

We were very happy to go home. We had some wonderful nurses and people to help us at the hospital, but there really is no place like home.  There is only so much bed sitting one person can do.

Meeting the Neilans

Charlie got to meet the Neilans on Monday morning.  The nurses must of thought we were crazy for not wrapping up, but they came in and fixed that, plus he was getting lots of snuggles.

Dan and Allyson came and brought him Daniel Striped Tiger, Charlie and DST hung in the nursery at the hospital a lot.

Meeting Dad

Baer got to go over while Charlie got checked out and Charlie held his Dad's hand while he was poked and prodded.  They had to check him out good since I had the fever and even though he was warm the nice Doctors said he was okay.

A Life Changer!

Here is the clock 13 and a half minutes before Baer and my life changed forever.  Rewind a few hours. I woke Baer up around 5am and I ate a piece of toast at 5:30 (that seems important considering my next meal wasn't for 31 hours later). We went into the hospital at 6:30 that morning to be admitted and have our son or daughter.  I had started labor around 1am Sunday morning.   By 11am I was 6cm and we thought this baby  would be here before lunch time.  We watched the Patriot's game...well Baer more watched it, I stared at people running around on the screen. Labor slowed down a little bit, then they wanted to hang up some medicine so I would keep going.  So at 6:30 pm at  9cm I had a fever and that was that.  So Baer got suited up and I got more medicine so we could meet our little guy (or girl).
The song  playing as I was wheeled into the operating room was Blow Your Whistle by Flo Rida.
Well it was a boy!  Although as they were working on me the Doctors kept saying "sweetheart" so I thought it was a girl.  But then at 7:06pm  we got to meet Charles Baer Connard all 8lbs 5 oz and 21" of him.

We love you very much Charles!
