After church and Christmas Eve with the Gillettes we headed home for dinner. We gave Kevin a call to see how Christmas Eve was going out in Colorado. He was working. Since we started alternating holidays to avoiding spending our whole holiday in the car we thought Baer might feel more at home if he had these guys around.

Christmas Crafting
I haven't been doing many crafts lately, but I think this counts and I also think our final product came out fabulous. I

Ella's Boots
Erin, Nate and Ella came up for dinner one night and I just couldn't wait to give Ella her Christmas present. First, because I knew she'd love her new rain boots and second because there was rain in the forecast and I knew her current boots were way too small. Even though she did love her boots I love her look at Erin in the last picture....she loves her mommy even more!

Last Minute Trip
Baer and I had a Christmas Party down in Rhode Island. Since we thought the drive was a little long and we had some bed and breakfast gift cards we took advantage. They did not advertise that there was a resident bird that WAS NOT LOCKED UP! living in the hallway to get outside. Baer was amused at my crippling fear.

2011 Theme
Baer and I have so many Christmas ornaments (mostly thanks to Baer's mom) that we can't possibly put them all on our little tree so each year we pick themes. So far we've had.. 2009....no balls. 2010....all balls and now 2011 is fancy.

New Holiday Tradition?
My next post was going to be about our Holiday Mom/Daughter tradition, but since Erin did such an eloquent job describing the evening on her blog I will direct you there. Erin's Blog . I 100% back up everything she says and take no responsibility for the actions of our mothers.

Cookie Central
Erin had a lot of help in her and Lauren's cookie making project.
Things we learned:
1. Do not care about how they actually turn out
2. Perry is a color of teal that describes the color teal. ( Perry Platypus)
3. Cookie dough that comes in the bucket although tasting good, does not keep its shape very well
4. There can never be enough ice cream cone shaped christmas cookies
5. Remembering to turn the oven off before you leave is a minor detail.
