Halloween Project Question

How many Neilan's does it take to hang up a Halloween Witch?

Seems like 4, and 1 to take pictures of it

Oh the Places She'll Go

The cake for Tif's shower was very cute! I'm sure not as cute as Taylor will be when she gets here though!

Ella!

We headed down to see Tif and Pat for their shower and my mom gave Ella this hat from the Berlin Fair. I think she liked it!

Sailing.

Danny took Baer and I out sailing one morning on the Boston Harbor. He had taken a week long class and had boat access for the month of October. Of course we wanted to take advantage of it, the one problem was, it was windy. These pictures were all before I had a bloody hand, Baer was soaking wet and I was whimpering in the middle of the boat wanting to be taken in.
It was all good though, the people next to us hit another boat so we were in good shape compared to them. My next boating experience will be in a lake on a pontoon boat.

Strummin on an Old Dirty Bucket

We didn't stay for the music portion of cider fest although the instrument selection was intriguing. Most of the other instruments were wheeled up on a broken baby carriage. Pretty creepy.

Authentic Campsite

On the property was a replica of a Maine State Forest Campsite. I guess the whole camp site is made from one tree. Peter's father loved Maine camping so much he built one of his own. Dad, I see a Burlingame campsite replica in your future.

Cider Making

What does one do at a Ciderfest? Well make cider of course. The cider press was very old but worked like a charm. The picture below is blurry but that is because of the extreme speed and force that was being used in the making of the cider.

Cider Fest

Baer and I went to his friend Peter's family house for Ciderfest. It was pretty excellent. Peter's mom is a professor of dirt at UNH or something along those lines so she had some pretty amazing gardens. I little more involved than ours. It was all set up so that the manure from the birds and rain from the roofs all drained right into the garden. The Spaghetti dinner was excellent by the way.

Happy Birthday Papa Baer

Baer and I went up to Maine this past weekend and had a birthday dinner with Baer's dad and some of his friends. Happy Birthday!

Berlin vs Topsfield Round 4

This does not happen at the Berlin Fair, but it does not gain the Topsfield Fair a point.

Berlin vs Topsfield Round 3

Both Fairs have ferris wheels. Here's how the points divvy up. On all my rides on the Ferris wheel at the Berlin Fair i was never told that I could disembark and then immediately was yelled at when I stood up to" sit down! there's too much weight on the other cars, get back in" and have to go around again. This was a little scary that I was not allowed to get off. However, I got to ride the Ferris wheel at the Topsfield fair with my lovely husband, something that was never done at the Berlin Fair, because I did not have a husband then. Berlin and Topsfield each get a point, Berlin for safety, Topsfield for Company. Berlin 2 - Topsfield 2

Berlin vs Topsfield Round 2

The Berlin Fair has rabbits. The Topsfield fair has Rabbits AND Cavies. Apparently a cavie is a hampster/gerbil of sorts. Now you might think this would gain Topsfield a point, but no. The Berlin Fair has a bunny every year that is painted pastel and is therefore the Easter Bunny. I feel that this painted bunny earns Berlin the point. Berlin 1 - Topsfield 1

Berlin vs Topsfield 1

Baer and I attended the Topsfield fair one Saturday. I grew up going to the Berlin Fair, it was such a big deal we had a day off of school. Now, I was skeptical to attend a new fair so here's how it shapes up. At the Berlin Fair the world's smallest horse is 50 cents to look at. At the Topsfield Fair it is not guaranteed that this is the world's smallest horse, but it is free to look at.

Rain Delay

Baer got offered a trip to Fenway with his friend Carl to see a Yankees/Red Sox game. Sounds cool right? Well the game scheduled to start at 7:05 was delayed until 10pm and then finally canceled. That's one way to sell a lot of Fenway Franks to soggy spectators.

Outdone

Michelle and Justin really out did themselves in the entertaining department. We had appetizers out on the deck and make your own pizzas as well as pancakes in the morning. So great!

Croquet game=3 weeks of torture

The boys had what they thought was a harmless game of croquet. Even though they were fully warned about the danger they did not listen. 3 weeks later Baer still has some lingering Poison Oak. The picture below is probably the last recorded documentation before Baer went into the bushes in search of a lost croquet ball.

Cape Party

Michelle had everyone down to her father's house in Falmouth to celebrate her birthday. We had a great time hanging out since we don't get together as much as we're used to since we don't have a ski house anymore.
